Our parents, teachers and community work together to create a safe and enriching learning environment for our students. Here are some of the programs that we support at our school:

The Gregory Gardens Parent Teacher Association (GG-PTA) is a volunteer organization made up the parents, teachers, our principal and other school staff. The PTA provides financial and organizational support for academic instruction, supplemental programs, activities, enrichment, supplies and services that directly benefit our children. We also provide direct support to the school, school grounds, buildings, classrooms and our teachers.There are many opportunities for parents to be directly involved in their children's education. These opportunities are through volunteer services, donations, supplementing our programs, participation on any level, as well as parent education both at our school and through the supplemental programs. Being involved always positively affects our children. The PTA is here to help, support and to inform you about the wonderful programs, activities and enrichment that our school embraces!

Programs that support academic learning

Raising the BAR - Bringing Academic Readiness a program that brings volunteers and financial support for reading assistants in the classroom and support for our computer lab.

Support for technology including math computer programs and equipment.

Grant writing committee provides support to teachers seeking grants for classroom supplies and programs

School Assemblies

Field trip scholarships

 

Programs that promote reading and literacy

Support for classroom magazines including Scholastic News and California Weekly

Support for library including volunteer assistants and financial support to buy new books

Support for Read Naturally and Accelerated Reader computer programs

Our Scholastic Book Fair encourages reading and puts books in the hands of our children

Our Used Childrens Book Sale provides affordable books for our families to purchase

Annual Warm Coat, Food Bank drive

In 2011 families sent donations to Tsunami victims in Japan
