The Purpose and Mission of the PTA
Gregory Gardens PTA is part of the National PTA. The purposes of the PTA are: - To promote the welfare
of children and youth in the home, school, community, and place of worship.
- To raise the standards of home life.
- To
secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
- To bring into closer relation the home and
the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
- To develop
between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages
in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
We are also part of the California State PTA which is the
largest child advocacy organization in the country. Here is the mission of the California State PTA. The
mission of the California State PTA is to positively impact the lives of all children and families by representing our members,
and empowering and supporting them with skills in advocacy, leadership and communications.
Gregory Gardens PTA Goals for 2011-2012
Each year, Gregory Gardens PTA sets goals to guide our programs for the year. Our goals for the 2011-2012 school
year are: 1. Increase parent participation, volunteerism and invest in the PTA of tomorrow. 2.
Improve communication. 3. Focus on Raising the BAR by increasing financial support and incorporating more
volunteers into our academic excellence program.
